As president and CEO of the Council of Fashion Designers of America, Steven Kolb lives and breathes style. Under his bespectacled tutelage, the organization has introduced New York Fashion Week: Men’s, which kicks off its third season next month, and initiatives such as the Retail Lab, a new program with Cadillac that gives designers real-world business and retail experience. And then there’s the glittering CFDA awards — the Oscars of the fashion world — that were held on Monday with much fanfare at the Hammerstein Ballroom. It was yet another success for the 54-year-old New Yorker, who lives with his husband, food stylist Jay Inkpen, and Donna the dog. Here, Kolb shares with Alexa his (and Donna’s) living essentials.
