Isaac Mizrahi presented his fall collection Wednesday in west Midtown with his usual clever whimsy. The petit fours served at the door set the tone for a menu of cuteness.

Mizrahi is apparently in love with the ballerina silhouette, as there were several dresses with full tulle skirts. Otherwise, it’s the details that make this collection special, like a jeweled cuff and sleeves, ape-like fur sleeve trim, a Fair Isle color block treatment and peek-a-boo tulle on the back of a ball skirt.

The best dresses were the trio of full skirted numbers with plaid or striped underskirts with sheer overskirts of falling leaves.
