There was a moody vibe at Jill Stuart, where the designer cited “the women of Nick Cave’s world — PJ Harvey, Susie Bick and Lydia Lunch — and the romanticism to their lives” as her inspiration for fall.

Models rocked the runway in black sheer frocks stamped with gold metallic roses, flirty skirts paired with collared tops and a series of party-perfect LBDs ranging from sweet babydolls to downright sexy (a black long-sleeved mini with sheer rose cut-outs comes to mind).

Diehards, fret not: There were plenty of sweet things to choose from: lace-paneled dresses, turtleneck dresses emblazoned with poppy floral prints, and ivory peplum shirts. Topped off with a little trapeze coat and a detachable fur hoodie, and the Stuart girl is set for fall.
