Nothing is louder and more outlandish than Katy Perry’s music — except, of course, her fashion sense. Rainbows, kittens, smiley faces and all the saccharine trappings of the pop star’s Technicolor universe are present in the eye-opening ensembles of her Prismatic World Tour, made by top designers from some of the most famous and fantastical brands in fashion. Here’s a sample of Perry’s best looks from the tour, which touched down Wednesday at Madison Square Garden.

The show opens with “Roar” and Perry decked out in iridescent Roberto Cavalli — a crop top and flouncy skater skirt embellished with prism crystals that create an ultra-reflective kaleidoscope effect.

Perry’s alter ego emerges wearing a Pepto-pink cat suit by The Blonds. (Coincidentally, the New York designers’ fall 2014 show was Catwoman-inspired.)

Romance rules the stage when Perry steps out in Valentino. The dress, with its diaphanous layers of butterfly-embroidered white tulle, is in perfect tune with Perry’s slowjam set.

Jeremy Scott, the king of camp and Moschino’s creative director, used the brand’s classic smiley face motif for a bustier Perry wears with a yellow biker jacket and peace-sign-print leggings paired with a slime-green wig. The outfit comes off as an ode to ’90s Nickelodeon.

How could the concert not end with “Firework”? Perry belts her irrepressible anthem in glittering garb by New York-based designer Todd Thomas — a bodysuit sewn with firework-print dress panels as big and thunderous as the show itself.
