After a two-year hiatus, the return of Libertine to New York Fashion Week was a much-anticipated affair. With an amicable split between the two designers, Johnson Hartig and Cindy Greene, the fashion crowd marked their calendars to come and see in what direction Hartig decided to take the brand.

As each model strutted down the runway, one might think that the “The Painted Lady” has a new meaning. Look after look of bright basket weave patterns turned what could have been boring mature over coats, sheaths and skirt suits into witty eye popping outfits. The kaleidoscope of colors that included, hot pink, turquoise, blue, orange and yellow even covered the tights.

The overall feel and look of the show could be summed up in three words: vibrant, fun and sophisticated.
