LUCA LUCA SHOW
Despite the freezing temperatures in New York, it had yet to feel like winter on the runway — until
Monday at Luca Luca. Designer Luca Orlandi, celebrating his 15th year in business, created a
beautifully luxe collection in various neutrals that were just screaming to be worn in St. Moritz.
The opening looks were winter white and ready to be cozied up to, including a surprisingly successful
pair of mink shorts, paired with a cashmere sweater and cropped wool jacket that made for the ultimately
sexy ski bunny. On the subject of animals, there were plenty who gave their lives in the name of fashion
to make this collection happen. A sheared mink coat with crocodile trim had PETA-enemy number one
Kimora Lee Simmons clapping, stomping her feet and all but screaming “I want it!” from her front row perch.
There was a striped fox jacket that could be put to great use this chilly week, and plenty of glittery separates
to round out the collection. In a season overcrowded with dark mod looks, it’s refreshing to see
Orlandi’s elegance shine through.
