This season, Marc Jacobs turned his Armory circus into a freak show.

In front of a star studded front row that included J. Lo, Victoria Beckham, Rachel Zoe and a crowned Nicole Richie, models hurtled down the runway in a hodgepodge of outfits that looked a little bit lady, a little bit circus-y, and a whole lotta crazy. There were checkerboard-printed bangles, multi-colored tinfoil embellished skirts, flat metallic hats, gingham shirts, zebra stripes, thick obi-inspired belts, oversized stone necklaces, sheer camisoles, and even a cheetah-print quilted bag.

And let’s not forget the strip of mirrored columns that littered the runway. Combined with the explosion of shimmery ready to wear and taunting music, there was a definite fun house vibe.

Inexplicably, Jacobs closed his show with three pastel chiffon dresses. While unclear how they fit into the collection, they were a calming and beautiful end to an otherwise hectic – and really fun to watch – show.
