Designers Georgia Chapman and Keren Craig presented their first-ever runway show for spring and this being Marchesa, the Plaza was a spot-on location.

Inspired by the deep sea from the painting “Sadko in the Underwater Kingdom” by Ilya Repin, as well as a series of tentacle and jellyfish drawings by Ernst Haeckel, the collection embraced an aquatic fantasy world.

Look after look of exquisite dresses were covered in ruffles that were transformed into shells, while intricate fringe beading moved as elegant tentacles. Cream, silver, petrol blue and pearl were the colors chosen from the sea, hand embroidered and draped into dresses most could only imagine in their dreams.

It was almost impossible for the audience to take their eyes off the details of each dress, but if they did, they would have caught a glimpse at a few extravagantly detailed handbags that could definitely take center stage too.
