Q: You’re a jewelry designer. How do you like to wear your own pieces?

A: I’m a minimalist, so I’m very simple. I like things that catch my attention and make sense to me, rather than just putting a lot of things on. And I’ll wear two different earrings — I never do anything matchymatchy.

Q: The Ana Khouri brand has an exceptionally A-list fan club. What’s been your favorite star moment?

A: I feel like the best moment is always the last moment. Alicia Vikander wore a lot of [my] pieces [during Oscars season] and she was super supportive. It’s the same amazing feeling when I saw Lupita [Nyong’o] or Jennifer Lawrence or Madonna, who was the first.

Q: Who’s someone — dead or alive — you would love to see wearing your jewelry?

A: I really admire women with strong taste and personality, like [the late Italian socialite and muse] Marchesa Luisa Casati. She’s someone who inspires me. She had amazing style.

Q: What’s your jewelry philosophy?

A: I don’t think of jewelry as [being] outside the body; the idea is that it’s connected to the body. And it’s not about beauty for me — or what you wear — but [rather] how you put your personality into it.

Q: Fill in the blank: When a woman puts on Ana Khouri, I want her to feel . . .

A: Assured.
