Stars showed up in droves for the 2023 Met Gala, dressing to impress in honor of late designer Karl Lagerfeld.
This year, the exhibit at Manhattan’s Metropolitan Museum of Art is dedicated to Lagerfeld, whose 65-year career saw him at the helms of Chloé, Fendi and Chanel.
For some, honoring Lagerfeld meant wearing vintage Chanel — Penélope Cruz and Dua Lipa, to name a few — while others interpreted the theme as an opportunity to dress up like his beloved cat, Choupette, like Jared Leto, Doja Cat and Lil Nas X.
Several celebrities dug into Lagerfeld’s archives for fashion’s big night out, including Nicole Kidman, who donned the gown from her iconic 2004 Chanel No. 5 commercial, while Margot Robbie wore a remake of Cindy Crawford’s 1993 Chanel dress.

Serena Williams announces she’s pregnant again at Met Gala
By Michael BlinnSerena Williams was able to sneak in an extra guest to the 2023 Met Gala on Monday.
The tennis star announced she and tech mogul husband Alexis Ohanian are expecting another child in an Instagram post showing off their Gala fits.
“Was so excited when Anna Wintour invited the 3 of us to the Met Gala,” she wrote on the post with pictures showing her slight baby bump.
Williams gave birth to daughter Alexis Olympia Ohanian Jr. in September 2017.
Williams, 41, wore a black Gucci outfit in the Gala theme of “Karl Lagerfeld: A Line Of Beauty.”
