The first lady put on her fashion best Monday morning in honor of fashion’s first lady, Anna Wintour.

“I know that Anna hates being the center of attention, so this is probably killing her!” Michelle Obama joked at the beginning of her remarks.

Decked out in a Naeem Khan green floral frock with a three-quarter length sleeve, the FLOTUS kicked off the Metropolitan Museum’s ribbon cutting ceremony for the new Anna Wintour Costume Center with a speech. The fashion industry’s most glittery names, including Sarah Jessica Parker, Victoria Beckham, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen and Donatella Versace, were in attendance.

“Fashion isn’t about what we wear. It’s a business. It’s an art,” the first lady added.

A longtime fan of the Indian-born Khan, Obama has now worn one of his designs to 15 events.

We believe that’s what they call a style match made in heaven.

The Met will continue celebrating Wintour Monday night at its annual Costume Institute Benefit. As this year honors designer Charles James — who was famous for his over-the-top ball gowns — the famously star-studded gala is sure to be swarmed with dramatic fashion statements.
