MICHON SCHUR SHOW
Stephanie Schur provided New York with a much needed dose of plain old prettiness at her show Wednesday night, presenting a collection with ruching, ruffling, and enough tailored contrast not to make those things too saccharine. An ultrafeminine lavender silk top was offset by sleek cropped taffeta dress pants (which truly worked, despite their description), and a flowy Japanese printed silk benefitted from the structure of a wool georgette top layered on top of it.
The eveningwear was solid, if a bit predictable, but she did manage to inject some sexiness into the little black dress by letting the open back swoop quite low and placing a Swarovski-encrusted band across it. Schur’s relatively quick success is easy to understand when she makes clothes that are this pretty, and this easy for any woman to wear.
