Models strutted down Milly’s pink-tinted runway in pretty, feminine pieces that had the right amount of sugar, but very little spice.

Known for serving up retro designs in punchy colors, designer Michelle Smith opted for something a little different this season. She worked in a rather un-girly color scheme (think black, charcoal, chestnut and camel), but stayed true to her formulaic and much adored silhouettes. Shame, really, because the collection would’ve been a smash hit had she added splashes of color.

Coats proved to be her strong suit, and we couldn’t help but drool over the black cashmere hooded version lined in that signature Milly pink.

And for the New York girl-about-town, there were loads of LBDs to pick from. A tulle version dripping in silver sequins was our favorite, though the frocks with bow details were pretty sweet.

Front row fashionistas included Julia Stiles, Elizabeth Hasselbeck, a low-key Mary J. Blige, and Gossip Girl’s Dreama Walker, whose dish sesh with her beau revolved around, “Oh look! We get little books!” Honey, those are what we call show notes. Welcome to Fashion Week.
