Nope, it’s not the world’s best drag show.

These lovely ladies in over-the-top outfits are actually contestants in the Miss Universe pageant, airing Monday night on Fox.

In recent years, the once-restrained national costumes — meant to showcase the contestants’ cultures — have become as kooky as Heidi Klum on Halloween.

For this year’s preliminary event, Miss Sweden Ida Ovmar melded a sexy milkmaid with Pippi Longstocking — the childrens’ book character, created by the late Swedish author Astrid Lindgren, who has a knack for hoisting horses above her head. Luckily for Miss Sweden, her pony appeared to be made of cardboard.

Too bad for Miss Myanmar Htet Htet Htun that her costume came with strings attached. The Burmese beauty was a puppet show come-to-life, complete with a wide stage and mysterious greenery. Rather than strutting down the runway, she plopped down, opened up her curtains and performed a traditional dance resembling “the robot.”

Heavy lies the head of Miss Germany. While plenty of other contestants wore turbans, hats and headdresses, Johanna Acs was saddled with a miniature Neuschwanstein Castle, the pad where the “Ring” cycle composer RIchard Wagner once lived.

Miss Dominican Republic Sal Garcia, meanwhile, looked like a tropical Technicolor version of Alfred Hitchcock’s “The Birds.” Flocking gorgeous!
