Monique Lhuillier’s inspiration, a box of Laduree macaroons, is appropriate, particularly since she presented an array of frilly confections.

Lhuillier realized this summer that people come to her for special pieces and this pretty collection delivered just that.

Skirts and trousers were very high-waisted to accentuate a woman’s curves. Ruffles were abundant everywhere – on sleeves, on skirts – but didn’t seem overwhelming.

Her asymmetrical draping of chiffon, particularly for the shorter dresses, looked a bit like she had falling hems – probably not the best look.

Lhuillier fans Michelle Tractenberg and Leann Rimes were front and center in frothy frocks – looking quite like macaroons themselves.
