Born in Youngstown, Ohio, Nanette Lepore went from producing her first design at the age of nine, outfitting a neighbor in a floral bedspread, to attending New York’s Fashion Institute of Technology. In 1992 and with a $5000 loan from her father, Lepore set up shop in a penthouse office in the garment district and started her label. Still based in Manhattan, the Nanette Lepore collection includes two fragrance lines, a shoe collection and a complete line of accessories.
