Nicole Miller was born in Massachusetts and studied at the Rhode Island School of Design, spending a year abroad at the Chambre Syndicale de la Haute Couture. She began her signature label 1982 and has maintained a solid presence in the fashion industry. She is best known for her perfect little black dresses and lively colorful prints, and also does a fair amount of business outfitting bridal parties with her simple elegant bridesmaid’s dresses. She also designs home decor, cosmetics and outerwear, and more recently started a line called Millergirl targeting the 20-something consumer. She is a favorite among celebs such as Jennifer Aniston, Jessica Simpson, Daryl Hannah, Kim Cattrall and Paris Hilton, and made fashion history when she put actresses on the runway instead of models during fashion week in 1996.
