The Oscar de la Renta woman is full-on for fall.
Skipping the minimal trend that’s been making the runway rounds, de la Renta opted for the opposite, and instead served up a collection bursting with tweedy separates, fox-fur-trimmed coats, and metallic pantsuits, all of which were embroidered or embellished with sequins, feathers, paisley prints, jewel tone velvets–even the low-heeled pumps were trimmed in mohair.
And for evening, gone were the nipped-at-the-waist, full-skirted cocktail frocks that are so associated with this uptown brand.
Instead, a series of long, lean column gowns — most of which were trimmed in liquid sequin tassels, crushed velvets, or covered entirely in rainbow patchworks of sequins (our favorite) — closed the decidedly elegant affair.
