Forget smooth, shiny stones. These days, jewelry designers are giving natural rocks and minerals a royally-rough treatment by leaving the stone’s interior crystals exposed and untouched. Depending on the host stone itself, as well as how it’s cut, filed and treated, the result is either flat, shiny and sparkly (see photos 1, 2, 3 and 6 in the attached gallery) or more jagged and rugged (see photos 4, 5, 7 and 8). Either way, it’s a trend worth rockin’.
