Prabal Gurung’s vibrantly-hued spring collection proved that he is no shrinking violet. With fashion heavies like Nicki Minaj and Amanda Seyfried seated front row, it was all fashion business: a practice in surrealist floral prints with a subversive twist. Sheer, flutter-sleeved frocks held together with leather and rope holsters, a fluted ombre skirt made entirely of latex and a vivid purple metallic paint-drip dress that caused quite a stir as it flashed down the runway.

But it was the masterful mash-up of tulle petals, colorful knots and razor-sharp paillettes on a red-carpet worthy white and lavender frock that left us wanting more from this blooming talent.
