Relaxed, slouchy pajama-chic was the look of next season, with fluttery caftan-style dresses in driftwood, soft indigo and sage green. Even a beautifully tailored and embroidered white-sand linen jacket had an insouciant slouch to it. Judging by the hemlines on the shift dresses and skirts, the trend of the slightly awkward mid-length skirt hitting just below the knee is going strong. (This half-nerdy, half-ladylike look is best pulled off with a flat or oxfords, as Comey showed.) Another continuing trend from last spring is colorblocking, which made an appearance on several shifts and shirts–hers featured several wave graphics.

Towards the end, the dresses became more form-fitting and ladylike–perhaps for traveling in style? Judging the models accessories: giant-size handbags, woven-straw bucket hats that obscured the eyes, and a few cropped safari jackets, it looked like the Rachel Comey girl is set to do some globetrotting next summer.
