Ralph Lauren visited colonial India for his spring collection and it made us want to get on a bull elephant and ride up Madison Avenue.

The sub-continental adventure opened with a sexy girl version of Indiana Jones, complete with torn camp shirt and hat. He kept the glam coming like a giant rolling boulder with bronze sequin harem pants, antique gold leather bomber jacket and an olive satin men’s overcoat. The Brits on safari to an all-white interlude of 1920’s gentility, including an ivory leather trenchcoat, was very Brideshead Revisited. Millinery by Philip Treacy, like a turban of bronze metal studs, gave it the punch of spectacle. Taj, Raj, Merchant, Ivory – everyone was there but Harold and Kumar.
