Reem Acra started her spring show with laser-cut leathers paired with neon pointy-toe pumps. They were ladylike with edge, but along with the black belted suiting, felt heavy for spring.

Acra quickly shifted her focus to her specialty: those all-too-pretty red carpet contenders: a Valentine’s Day-red cocktail frock, strapless shifts with top-to-bottom sheer, embellished paneling, and a spectacular fuchsia and nude tulle ball gown that closed the show.

A series of gold gowns — some were lace, some were smattered with sequins, and one showed a sheer skirt — highlighted Acra’s love affair with all things glittery. So did the silver sequin Miu Miu sneakers she took her final bow in. Shine on, Reem.
