RICHARD CHAI SHOW
Richard Chai made his mark with an affinity for fabrics, working in everything from silk to Jacquards
and manipulating those in a multitude of feminine ways. For Fall, he took on wool boucle, patent
leather and cashmere, and applied folds, ruching, pleats and patchwork to all of the above. But the
individual looks, full of his signature origami and heavy on the layering of textures, felt like just that–
individual looks that happened to share the same runway, rather than one strong conceptual collection.
