Sophie Theallet
It was a mixed melange of a fall collection from the usually spot-on Sophie Theallet. The first look was a dress covered in what looked like wallpaper-print in clashing colors, an unfortunate choice of pattern that repeated itself throughout the show. To compound matters, turtlenecks were worn under tops and dresses — and they needed to be lost immediately.
However, there were also romantic tie-front dresses in dotted chiffon with blouson sleeves, full-skirted cocktail dresses with metallic threading, cleverly twisted halter dresses and great two-tone heels in contrasting colors from Manolo Blahnik. The last two gowns — one tie-front in blood-orange satin slit high on the leg, and one in black dotted chiffon — had skirts that fluttered behind them in mini-trains.
Overall, it was a uneven collection, with a high for every low.
