The biggest names in politics, fashion and the arts bid a tearful farewell Monday to designer Oscar de la Renta, whose enduring eye for style touched virtually all aspects of American pop culture.

Mourners came dressed to the nines to honor de la Renta at the Church of St. Ignatius Loyola on the Upper East Side.

“It was a very beautiful, solemn, spiritual service celebrating a man who was so wonderful and life giving,” newswoman Barbara Walters told The Post.

The hourlong memorial included Scripture readings by two former secretaries of state, Henry Kissinger and Hillary Rodham Clinton, and a prayer led by ex-Mayor Michael Bloomberg.

Vogue editor Anna Wintour read a poem, “He is Gone,” before the final final blessing.

De la Renta died from cancer on Oct. 20 at age 82.

The Dominican-born designer, whose garments combined intricate workmanship with luxurious materials, was as revered in Hollywood as he was at social soirees in DC. Most recently, Amal Alamuddin wore a de la Renta dress at her Venice wedding to George Clooney.

Dominican First Lady Candida Montilla also attended Monday’s memorial service.

From the media world: who attended included Rupert Murdoch, Andrea Mitchell and Diane Sawyer.

Among the political bigwigs paying their final respects were another Ex-First Lady Laura Bush and ex-first daughters Jenna Bush Hager, Barbara Bush and Chelsea Clinton.

Film stars, including was represented by director Mike Nichols and actors Matthew Broderick and Hugh Jackman.

Artists, including dance legend Mikhail Baryshnikov and famed photographer Annie Leibovitz paid tribute to de la Renta.

Representing the fashion world was represented in force by supermodel Karlie Kloss and designers Valentino, Ralph Lauren, Tommy Hilfiger, Donna Karan, Michael Kors and Diane von Furstenberg.

“I think he would be overwhelmed because he had all kinds of people from all parts of his life,” said Syd Shaw, wife of longtime de la Renta collaborator Jerry Shaw.

Honorary Ushers included sons Moises de la Renta and Charles Reed, son-in-law Alex Bolen, ex-Morgan Stanley head Parker Gilbert, Dominican resort kingpin Frank Rainieri, marketing executive Hamilton South, Fiat chief John Elkann, Barry Diller, Julio Iglesias and Charlie Rose.For decades, de la Renta’s designs were a staple on Hollywood red carpets and state dinners at the White House.

De la Renta was remembered for his passion for design.

“That was his life. He loved it. He loved working. He loved people,” Jerry Shaw said.
