We may have missed out on Mani Cam obscenities at this year’s Oscars, but the red carpet was still rife with surprises.
Here’s the good, the bad and the Gaga.
The Good:
Dakota Johnson turned up the heat
(Left) Splash News, (right) Limp personality aside, Johnson killed it in this Saint Laurent dress. The knotted crystal strap alone deserves a spot on this list. Extra points for the DGAF ponytail.
Marion Cotillard, couture beetle
WireImage (2)Either you love this or you hate it. We happen to find a futuristic robe à la française refreshing. And though Cotillard could stand to take a break from Christian Dior Couture, all was assuaged when she pronounced it on the red carpet:
Naomi Watts wore a bandeau

Meryl Streep, period

The Most Improved: Rosamund Pike in Givenchy
(Left) ZumaPress, (right) WireImageFinally, a dress that fits!
The Bad:
Felicity Jones failed big time
(Left) WireImage, (right) ZumaPressWhat’s more problematic, the mother-of-the bride gown or the bangs?
Gwyneth Paltrow looked like a party favor
(Left) WireImage, (right) ZumaPressIn all fairness, everything save the flower looks great.
Blanca Blanco, girl on fire
Getty Images (2)We’re not even sure who this is, but she should burn this dress immediately.
Jared Leto wore periwinkle
WireImage (2)It’s not his shade.
The Lady Gaga
