Like any good sci-fi event, Monday night’s world premiere of “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” in Hollywood was a hotbed of beautiful women and total weirdos. And because it’s “Star Wars,” the star-studded red carpet was swarming with style and beauty tributes, ranging from subtle (Leia buns, Jedi-esque belts) to screwball (straight up: Joseph Gordon-Levitt). Let’s take a look.

First things first …

Lupita Nyong’o stunned

Surprise, surprise. No knee-jerk referencing here — just a sequin-embellished Alexandre Vauthier gown that was simply out of this world.

Daisy Ridley, Janelle Monáe and Zendaya killed it, too

Up-and-comer Ridley, the film’s breakout fashion star, chose a custom creation from Chloé that was ostensibly sent from the heavens. Ms. Monáe wore warrior-like Erevos Aether with a waist-long Leia braid, while Zendaya brought fantasy down to earth, pairing a cozy knit dress by Michael Kors with the designer’s crystal-encrusted perspex skirt.

Honorable mention: Carrie Fisher and Billie Lourd

Princess Leia rocked royal blue, while her daughter, who’s making her cinematic debut in “The Force Awakens,” got it right in a belted robe dress with Obi-Wan Kenobi vibes.
