Inspired by this year’s “American Woman: Fashioning a National Identity” exhibit at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Gap partnered with current and past CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund winners to create eight gowns for A-listers to wear on the red carpet at last night’s Costume Institute Gala. The gowns will be auctioned to the public starting May 5 at gap.com/gownauction, and bidding starts at $500. The gowns will also be on view at the Gap pop-up shop at 680 Fifth Ave., at 54th Street.
