Feminine forces brought all their considerable fashion powers to bear on the Grammys last night. And there hasn’t been this much girl power — and shiny costumes — since the Spice Girls.

Katy Perry, with a new album and dreams of taking the Iron Throne, rocked a new white platinum ’do to go with a lamé warrior queen Daenerys gown by Tom Ford.

Queen Bey, meanwhile, went for god status. With a pregnancy announcement heralded like the Second Coming, Beyonce took the stage as — what else — a fertile Hindu deity. She took the billion dollars from the elevator and bought enough gold to clothe herself head to toe, from the crown to the gown. And then there’s nothing to say but amen, all hail Bey.

Her sibling Solange was left to do her best fashion lady-in-waiting routine, in a fabulous ’80s inspired metallic plissé Gucci frock that channeled a different sister — the Pointer Sisters.

With egg entrances a distant memory, Gaga left the over-the-top theatrics to Beyoncé. Instead, fresh off her Super Bowl victory, Gaga stormed the carpet in Posh Spice’s naughty Robocop uniform, updating it with a top that demonstrated the new fine art of that most female of symbols, the underteat.

Other divas did shine on in different ways. Céline Dion, no stranger to the dramatic, looked positively tame in an emerald plunging V. And Rihanna conjured a little Bollywood princess via an Armani Privé tangerine crystal-bra top, hugging her goddess Isis tattoo.

Superpowers not included.
