You might want to rethink throwing away the next bottle of water you polish off — because it could be the answer to transforming your basic locks into Victoria’s Secret Angel-worthy waves.
A new hair tutorial involving a water bottle and a hair dryer is taking over the internet and might just be a godsend for all the straight-haired gals across the globe who have been yearning for flawlessly sexy mop tops.
Celebrity hairstylist and makeup artist Olivia Smalley posted a video of herself trying this hair hack, which was originally posted by NYC-based hairstylist and balayage master Asil Simsek.
The viral video posted by Smalley has garnered more than 752,000 views to date — and sparked scores of blow-dry-bottle imitators.
Based on Smalley and Simsek’s videos, the method looks pretty straightforward and easy. Warning: the plastic melts when it gets too hot, so all beauty vloggers trying this at home, beware.
Here’s how it works.
The technique calls for a plastic water bottle and a hair dryer. All you need to do is cut a hole out of one side of the water bottle, then fill the bottle with a section of hair that’s close to half an inch thick.
After placing a section of hair in the water bottle, use the blow dryer to blast hot air on the hair through the hollowed-out hole.
After a few seconds — and be mindful not to overheat — your strands will mimic the luxurious locks of models seen on the Victoria’s Secret runway.
Pretty effortless, don’t you think?
Take a look at the videos and try it yourself, but please proceed with caution.
