What fab New Yorkers are wearing to the opera

A night at the opera means great music, a great story — and putting on your finest. "I think it's from the '70s," she says. "When I lived on 54th Street, I had a neighbor who was a designer. I told him I had all this fabric that I don't know what to do with and it comes from all over the world. He said, 'Put it out in the living room. I'm coming upstairs .' This is the last thing he designed for me, and I love it." "I was happy to pay $175 for it to support Housing Works ," she says. The "Tabi " boots are Martin Margiela, the pants are Comme des Garçons and the T-shirt was a gift from a friend . "I share a birthday with our friend's infant daughter, Josephine, so he got me a T-shirt and her a onesie. "We love opera and every time we go it's a beautiful event," Turina says. "And it [shows] respect when [they can] see beauty from the stage.
