You’re not hallucinating. You are seeing spots. Leopards overran the fall shows. As menswear continues to break free from traditional constraints, animal-kingdom patterns abounded for bold dressers — a pleasant break from drab plaids.

There were also tiger and zebra stripes in the runway menagerie, but leopard definitely reigned supreme as the predator at the top of the food chain. Burberry Prorsum’s Christopher Bailey wielded the big-cat print to add a touch of bohemian élan and exoticize his crisp English selection. Coach’s Stuart Vevers cleverly mixed it with camouflage. Calvin Klein Collection used it subtly on topcoats and sweaters.

With hibernation season approaching, it’s time to show off your wild side — just balance it out with a solid.
