Forget “Protect Ya Neck” — because it’s all about ya lips now.
Diehard Wu-Tang Clan fans know they already have a plethora of namesake projects and merch on offer, from raps to streetwear to an upcoming Hulu series.
But, as of Thursday, the legendary hip-hop collective from Staten Island officially launched a new skill set: beauty.
The crew has collaborated with cult-favorite beauty brand Milk Makeup, to create Wu-Tang x Milk Makeup.
The resulting collection of eight lip colors ($55 each or $440 for the set) features highly pigmented shades that keep with the “Wu Warrior” aesthetic by representing the earthly elements of the I Ching Trigrams.
The packaging also stays true to Wu style: The influence of “Shaolin” (a form of kung fu — and action movie — from China that combines Zen Buddhism and martial arts) is strong, with a hand-carved golden dragon wrapping around the barrel of the lip dispenser.
For those who won’t take any lip, there is also a 24-k-gold-plated mirror ($75) shaped like the Wu-Tang logo.

As with most beauty launches, a familiar face was recruited to achieve the brand’s message.
The just-dropped campaign video — with an original score by Wu-Tang rapper/producer RZA — showcases stunning singer-dancer Teyana Taylor, geared up and flaunting kung fu moves — all while wearing the new “Chi” shade.
“Teyana is using lip color as a coat of armor. She’s a badass. She is exactly who she is. She’s unapologetic in every aspect of her life,” says Milk Makeup co-founder Georgie Greville.
One thing’s for sure, she definitely makes being bad look good.
