It seems Azrouel was as enamored of Marc Jacobs’ Fall 06 collection as the rest of us: he

borrowed more than a page from the designer with his updated grunge collection, rendered

in layers of greys and blacks, with even an odd dash of flannel thrown in as a nod to

Seattle. He also piled on textures, with everything from tweed and leather to drapey jersey

making appearances on the runway. This collection also marked Azrouel’s first foray into menswear,

which was wearable, if not a bit of a snooze. At least one attendee couldn’t wait to catch a glimpse

of the collection: socialite Fabiola Beracasa, who threw more than a little attitude when told

she would have to wait in line with everyone else to get inside.
