There was definitely something for everyone at the Yigal Azrouel show this season. The runway was littered with made-to-fit dresses, pin-studded leather jackets, stovepipe jeans paired with blanket cardigans (a certain Fair Isle print was a favorite) and even a hippie-esque smocked neck gown.

Azrouel worked mostly in charcoals and blacks, save for the burst of color that came blazing down the runway in the shape of the pouf-sleeved one-shoulder dress. His updated take on this frightening ’80s trend was presented in a pretty purple color, proving that even the ugliest concept can become beautiful in the hands of the right designer. The asymmetrical black back zipper was the perfect touch.

With such a chic collection presented before her, we’re dying to know what the front row glitterati – Ashley Dupre – will be pre-ordering for fall.
