Saks Fifth Avenue is styling the vote.

For the first time in its history, the department store is hosting a voter registration drive at its New York flagship. From Sept. 22 (National Voter Registration Day) through early October, customers can register to vote at socially distanced stations on the second floor. They can also print an absentee ballot application and check their registration status through an online platform created in partnership with Vote.org.

Representatives from the non-profit organization, HeadCount, will be on hand to guide shoppers through the process and answer questions.

The platform will also be accessible online at Saks.com/RegisterToVote.

To promote the non-partisan, pro-democracy initiative, the store’s six center windows on Fifth Ave. will spell out VOTE. They will also highlight key events in voting history, like the 19th Amendment guaranteeing women’s suffrage in 1920.

That’s the civic spirit.
