If you’re a cat lover living in or near Manchester, England, the purrfect job awaits.
A cat cafe that’s opening in June is seeking nannies to care for its resident felines. The position pays about $11.38 an hour.
“Our cats are ridiculously needy so they like a lot of attention,” Ellie Close, the cafe’s co-founder, told the Manchester Evening News.
The job opening was posted on the cafe’s Facebook last Tuesday, and it’s already a social media hit. In the past week, more than 2,700 users joined the page.
It’s definitely not your typical 9-to-5 job. Caretakers have rotating shifts during visiting hours, between 9 a.m. and 9 p.m., plus after-hours nannying. Job duties include planning games for their feline friends and visitors.
But caretakers who think they’ll be able to catnap on the job need not apply — not with all those litter trays and bedding to clean on their shifts.
Prospective nannies should act soon: the pawesome position will stop accepting applications on Friday.
