See ya latte!
The Greenpoint, Brooklyn, coffeehouse that made headlines in 2014 for selling an eye-poppingly pricey $10 latte was shuttered by city marshals this week because the owners were behind on the rent.
The Scandinavian brewhouse, Budin, was evicted from 114 Greenpoint Ave., with the landlord, BJL Properties LLC, claiming it was owed more than $10,000 for a month’s back rent, according to co-owner Crystal Pei.
But Pei says the landlord has four months of rent in a security deposit it has not tapped, and accuses the property owner of trying to squeeze Budin out of the trendy neighborhood.
No one answered the phone at BJL’s Port Jefferson Station, LI, offices.
