The fast-food stop has long been a tried-and-true photo op for politicians. What better way to communicate that you’re “just folks” than by chowing down on a greasy burger in front of a room full of jaded pool photographers?
“This is how I eat all the time,” the politicians seem to be saying as they awkwardly cram corn dogs into their mouths, right before they fly back to Washington on private jets and resume eating seven-course state dinners.
On Monday, Hillary Clinton became the latest pol to play the game when she ducked into an Ohio Chipotle for lunch. Clinton has admitted she hasn’t driven a car since 1996, but we’re supposed to believe that, like, Chipotle is totally her favorite spot? Yeah, sí.
Here are five more times politicos tried to sway voters by inhaling a high-calorie meal.
Barack Obama
He stopped into a Five Guys for burgers in 2009, and as you can see from this footage, it was anything but normal. Wonder what the polling data showed about whether he should order mustard.
Mitt Romney

delicious http://t.co/nWW8faG— Mitt Romney (@MittRomney) July 21, 2011
The man who probably has more money in his wallet right now than most of us have in the bank enjoys tweeting pictures of lunch at Carl’s Jr. The new “jalapeño chicken sandwich is delicious” he wrote in 2011, captioned alongside a snapshot of himself casually attired in a blue polo.
Joe Biden

Biden reportedly ordered a cheeseburger, fries and a black-and-white milkshake. It’s just sad that we even know that.
Bill Clinton

The former prez went vegan after a 2010 heart operation and is probably out of the Big Mac game for good.
Paul Ryan
