She’s making savory really sweet.

A Scottish baker has become an online sensation for her lavish cupcakes, which are topped with miniature fondant versions of fast food items from the likes of McDonald’s and KFC, as well as New York bagels, prawns, and black olives.

Ashley Calder’s lookalike treats — or “cupfakes” — have become so popular that she’s booked into 2025,Kennedy News and Media reports.

“People started saying, ‘Is there any chance you can make mini food,’ and it just hit off,” explained Calder, 38. “I guess people like anything that’s miniature, I know I’m like that…I’m like, ‘Oh my god, it’s so cute,’ because it’s small.”

Since hitting the jackpot with her small-scale sweets — which cost a cool $91 for a dozen, or $150 to get a different design on each of the 12 cupcakes — customers are salivating to call in custom orders for themselves or others.

“They’ll send me a list of their boyfriends’ favorite foods, and I will make them,” Calder said. “I always loved baking and cooking and making things look pretty.”

Calder honed her craft while making canapés for a catering company in high school and college.

She was diagnosed with non-Hodgkins lymphoma at age 21 and given just six months to live in 2007, but a clinical trial was successful and she got the cancer all-clear at 26.

She went on to work at the prestigious three-Michelin-star restaurant The Fat Duck in Berkshire, England.

She says she is completely self-taught from YouTube videos when it comes to baking.

“I didn’t really think it could be a real-life job until now,” Calder said. “I was too scared to just do this in case I wouldn’t be busy enough.”

“It’s so weird that I just make cakes from my kitchen, and it’s just taken off,” Calder gushed. KennedyNews/AshleysCakes “It’s so weird that I just make cakes from my kitchen, and it’s just taken off,” Calder gushed. KennedyNews/AshleysCakes

She said McDonald’s has been the most popular request.

“All the wee images I have an edible printer for, but you still have to screenshot everything you need and make it to the right size and cut it all,” she explained of her craft. “It’s quite time-consuming, but I do enjoy it.”

The specialty of her specialty isn’t lost on the hit pastry chef either.

She was bewildered to discover that working from home can be such a sweet gig.

“It’s so weird that I just make cakes from my kitchen, and it’s just taken off,” she gushed.
