Local farmers and food entrepreneurs in search of funding can sample a loan smorgasbord at the Food + Enterprise Summit at the Pfizer Building in Brooklyn on April 8-9.
Run by sustainable food investor Derek Denckla, the summit aims to connect entrepreneurs with a broad menu of funding.
Denckla said there will be $1 billion in capital options, including crowdfunding, grants, community development finance institutions and commercial banks.
The summit is for the small firms that are often under investors’ radar, even as $4.3 billion in venture capital was invested in food businesses in 2015, up from $296 million in 2009.
