Problem is, welfare scammers are likely to partake.

In July, The Post exposed how New Yorkers on taxpayer-funded food stamps are stuffing American staples into the barrels and shipping them to the Caribbean, where the goods are often sold for a profit on the black market.

Last week, Pathmark advertised what it called “the barrel savings deal” at its 21 city stores.

The bulk products are just some of the items friends and family of American welfare users are hawking in the Dominican Republic and Jamaica.

The supermarket chain declined to comment.
