That’ll do it.

After finishing a meal at a restaurant, a Negative Nancy of a customer wasted no time running home to write a not-so-great review of their experience.

Well, the restaurant looked at it as an opportunity to promote their business and what makes their establishment worth visiting.

A screenshot of the exchange was posted to the r/funny forum on Reddit. The disgruntled diner wrote: “I ate here for the first time tonight. The brisket was probably the best I’ve ever had but I found an entire LEAF in my baked beans. I cannot make this up.”

The restaurant responded, writing, “So, we’re glad you enjoyed the brisket. I’m guessing you’ve never seen bay leaves in your food before? If you see them in the future you can rest assured that that is a sign that someone spent time and effort making your food from scratch.”

“We pride ourselves on making everything fresh in house, no cans ever. So you will find unique spice blends and herbs being used in our food. That includes bay leaves. Again I’m glad you enjoyed the brisket and I’m sorry the leaf surprised you,” the comment from the restaurant read.

Commenters mostly praised the restaurant’s to-the-point reply.

“Well, that’s one way to turn a bad review into [an] advertisement for your business,” wrote one fan.

Others understood where the grumpy diner was coming from.

“Happened to me once,” a Reddit user replied. “I was eating a chimichanga and noticed a brownish green leaf. Surprised, I showed my wife and she too was confused. Our waiter came over and I showed him … ‘I’m sorry, is that supposed to be in there?’ ‘Yes. It’s a bay leaf. It enhances flavor.'”

“This legit happened to me when I was fresh in the Navy,” someone else wrote. “We had spaghetti for dinner one night and I found a whole bay leaf and figured it must have been debris of some sort. (I was mostly raised on box food and salt and pepper were the only spices in the house.)”

And while you’re trying not to get on a restaurant’s bad side — avoid doing these specific things that piss off waitstaff.

“These are the icks that I get as a server that customers give me. I’m going to give you three,” a frustrated server named Kiley said in a TikTok video that has racked up almost 200,000 views and over 1,000 comments.

The first one she mentioned is barely letting the waiter introduce themself before cutting them off by giving them your drink order.

“Can you wait 10 seconds? … Now you’re going to get a regular Coke,” she said, clearly far too familiar with this specific type of encounter.

The second ick has to do with free refills.

“No. 2 is when somebody asks me if they get free refills on strawberry lemonade. I already f–king know I’m about to get 45 of these f–king strawberry lemonades and it’s going to be a $2 tip — or zero,” she explained.

Her last complaint is when she’s waiting on a couple and the jealous girlfriend thinks Kiley is Mr. Steal Your Man.

“I do everything in my power to make her feel comfortable. I compliment her, I just look at her. I don’t even acknowledge her man, and yet she’s still got that little attitude … B–ch, I don’t want your man, your man looks like a f–king gremlin … And it’s usually a low tip.”
