Hanukkah may be over, but new interpretations of the humble latke, or fried potato, remain on winter menus.
Schnippers is offering latke burgers, with a beef patty, a latke, caramelized onion, and horseradish sour cream on an Orwasher’s onion roll at all of its locations — while Bustan, a modern Israeli restaurant from chef/partner Rafael Hasid, is offering a gluten-free latke with smoked salmon, eggs and labneh, which is Lebanese strained yogurt, as a somewhat healthier brunch option.
Zuckers is also offering a latke with egg and pastrami, or corned beef and sauteed onions, on a bagel.
