A life of crime never pays.

The Hamburglar is learning that lesson the hard way, after receiving an impromptu makeover from McDonald’s following a hiatus from network television since 2002.

You likely remember the Hamburglar of yore as a youthful, round-faced petty thief with a single tooth and a black mask. Thanks to puberty, the Hamburglar is now a svelte fella who appears to be a 6-foot-something suburban dad with some serious stubble.

“We felt it was time to debut a new look for the Hamburglar after he’s been out of the public eye all these years,” Joel Yashinsky, McDonald’s vice president of US marketing said, in a statement to Mashable. “He’s had some time to grow up a bit and has been busy raising a family in the suburbs and his look has evolved over time.”

But the new and not-so-improved Hamburglar looks awfully familiar to some. Here are eight of the craziest resemblances that Twitter has noticed so far.

The Repo Man

Apparently taking people’s cars wasn’t enough for ’90s wrestling legend Repo Man, who has moved on to taking his enemy’s burgers as well.

A superhero . . .

. . . or a supervillain

Sexier than Cara Delevingne, that’s for sure.

A French porn star

Westley, is that you?

Or Cary Elwes, rather. “As you wish, McDonald’s. As you wish.”

They’re all pretty interchangeable, to be honest.

It's super obvious that Superman is Clark Kent, but it's even more obvious that The Hamburglar is Macklemore. pic.twitter.com/Vi23so5mLF

The longer I look at this new Hamburglar, the more he looks like John Krasinski in a mask, and the more uncomfortable I become.

The Zorro reboot

Antonio Banderas is so 2005.

An actual criminal

Not only are your burgers not safe, but neither is your home, your family or your personal safety.
