You can soon sleep under the stars on Governors Island for the first time.
On May 1, glamping company Collective Retreats will set up a camp on the island.
The 6-acre campground — or “environmentally-friendly overnight lodging retreat,” per a press release — overlooks the New York skyline and will accommodate up to 100 people. On-site, campers can enjoy live music and wellness activities.
Rates for luxe tents begin at $175 per night for a queen bed with a two-night-minimum stay. (Pricier tents climb well into the thousands per night.) Outdoor enthusiasts can book a spot online now.
This new campground is part of a broader plan to open the island to hospitality and food businesses, Curbed reports.
Next up? Food trucks, apparently.
