Tom Cruise is just like the rest of us. He ages, too.

After years as the standard bearer of male beauty in Hollywood, the 53-year-old leading man set social media ablaze when he showed up to the BAFTAs in London without his sharp jawline.

A flurry of Tweets ensued, describing Cruise’s formerly lean visage as “inflated,” “bloated,” and “frozen,” with many suggesting that he had a botched cosmetic procedure. Risky business, that.

Or maybe, just maybe, it’s a case of a handsome man’s age finally catching up with him.

While many fans can’t understand the star’s bizarre lifestyle choices, they can at least relate to the former hottie’s fluctuating appearance.

In honor of Cruise’s famous mug, here’s a look at how his face has changed through the decades.
