Baby boomers know her ’60s sitcom, “That Girl,” but Marlo Thomas hasn’t stopped working since — she’s starring now in off-Broadway’s “Clever Little Lies.” She tells Barbara Hoffman how she and her husband, Phil Donahue, unwind.

“We live near Central Park, and when it’s warm we walk to the Boathouse and have lunch. We like to walk by the pond and the ‘Alice in Wonderland’ statue. There’s this nice hill we walk up, so it’s not just a stroll — it ups your heart rate.

“We love the Frick [Collection]! It’s small and so concentrated. They did a wonderful exhibit of Renoir’s dancers not long ago — beautiful.

“We’ll often go to Bella Blu on the Upper East Side for lunch. It’s very colorful. There’s a red, tin roof, and it’s small. You can have a really nice Italian meal there — chicken cacciatore, veal piccata. We also like to go to the movies. On Third Avenue, there are something like 900 movies. For us, the best thing is not having a plan. We both came from the suburbs and spent our lives in cars. Here you can say, ‘Why don’t we walk over there and see what’s happening at that museum? Or peek into a restaurant and find a table where it’s not noisy.’ We like talking to each other!”
