One week into The Post’s “Get Fit By Memorial Day” challenge, the 15 participants are more than 34 pounds lighter in total. Twenty percent of that belongs to top loser Annie, who lost 7.8 pounds. “The positive first-week results are partly my reward for withstanding yesterday’s unexpected office temptation, when two dozen doughnuts mysteriously arrived in the newsroom,” says the administrative editor on our Get Fit blog (blogs.nypost.com).

Staffers have been policing each other’s meals, snacks and weigh-ins, counting points and watching portion sizes using guidelines from Weight Watchers Online.

It’s annoying the heck out of their co-workers!

In addition to Weight Watchers, staffers also enjoyed one-hour workout consultations with personal trainers at the New York Sports Club. Although enjoyed may be the wrong word.

“The whole hour was a pretty humbling experience,” says Beth, editorial designer. “I left in awe of my trainer’s ability to create mind-blowing torture with naught but a plastic ball.”

See Beth in action on the ball and Annie fall off it at nypost.com, which features first workout videos from four challengers.
